Wall and Roof Construction

All of our products are made using light gauge steel frames which work in a similar way to timber framed buildings. The gaps within the structure are then insulated using products from manufacturers including Celotex, Kingspan and Knauf which contribute to a very energy efficient product. Having a steel frame also speeds up the installation, meaning that the core part of your home extension or garden room can be completed within just one day! Then you decide on your choice of finish! You may also like to know that your lightweight steel frame is much stronger than timber and produces less waste.

All of our external walls are wrapped in a vapour membrane, positioned on the outer side of the insulation, repelling any water that tries to enter. This means you have a completely water tight building that allows vapour to escape from the inside, preventing any condensation.

Inside the garden rooms, we will plasterboard and skim the walls and ceiling to give a professional look, whilst also providing additional insulation that contributes to improved energy efficiency. It will be like one of the rooms in your house.

Our comprehensive insulated roofing system also maintains our high standards with the use of high performance insulated composite roof panels including a full guttering and drainage system where required. All of our garden rooms are installed with a Firestone RubberCover EPDM roofing system as standard and are backed with a 20 year warranty as standard for your peace of mind.

Firestone roofing systems are BBA approved and with their life expectancy standing at an impressive 50 years, this is an incredibly durable and long-lasting product.

Groundworks

Screwpiles Vs Concrete Pad.

So what is a screw pile? A screw pile is a giant screw that ranges in size (from 0.6m to 1.5m) and is wound into the ground using our mechanical drill. Each screw is placed out at regular intervals (determined by our structural engineer and load testing results - each screw can hold around 6-7 kiloNewtons) to support the steel framed flooring system.

There are many benefits to using screw piles:

  • They can be used on uneven ground.
  • They negate the need to use concrete; there is no drying time that could impact the speed of the build.
  • They are installed in a matter of hours.
  • They are ecologically friendly; they have less impact on your garden.
  • There is no digging needed and often beloved trees can remiain intact as we are able to screw pile around its roots.
  • Screwpiles are lightweight and accessible; so no access issues.

We do however understand the need to use concrete for certain foundations and we are able to ensure we do this safely and as cost-effective as possible. Most of our builds have been screw piled as we see it as a sustainable alternative to concrete.

Exterior Finish Options

We offer a wide range of exterior finishes, from External Wall Insulation with a durable and water-repelling render top coat to stunning natural Western Red Cedar cladding.

Woodgrain Composite Cladding

Our Woodgrain Composite Cladding is the perfect way to achieve a real wood effect without the effort, thanks to its attractive embossed woodgrain finish.

Available in 4 colours: Coffee, Teak, Graphite Grey and Light Grey.

Timber Cladding

Western Red Cedar is sourced from the Pacific Northwest and is PEFC certified. As this is a natural product, each board length varies in colour and can range from a light golden colour to mid-dark brown with some boards having a slight tint of red.

Siberian Larch Cladding is sourced from well-managed forests in Northern Europe and FSC certified. As this is a natural product, each board length varies in colour and can range from a yellow brown, light brown and a reddish brown.

External Wall Insulation

External Wall Insulation is a popular choice of finish due the energy efficiency and thermal performance it provides for your garden room.

This is created by using a system of components that can be applied on the outside of a building to insulate, protect and enhance it which is then finished with a render top coat which can either be smooth or textured as desired.

The render top coat is available in a White/Cream colour for a classic finish.

Doors and Windows

All of our windows and doors meet building regulations specification standards of enhanced security performance.

The frames can be provided as either UPVC or aluminium, with double or triple glazed glass for maximum heat retention.

Door units are available as either French Doors, bifold doors or sliding doors and windows are available in a range of styles and sizes depending on your budget.

Frames available in 5 colours: White, Anthracite Grey, Black, Oak and Rosewood.
